“Here’s what makes the Braverman Stinger unique and distinct from other pen guns:
- Design and Legality: Unlike some pen guns classified as “Any Other Weapon” (AOW) under the US National Firearms Act, the Stinger was designed to be considered a standard handgun by the ATF. This was achieved by designing it so that it must be opened and folded into a pistol-like shape before it can be fired, making it distinct from a weapon that could fire while disguised as a pen.
- Production: Braverman initially partnered with the American Derringer Company for manufacturing (1993-1994) before forming his own company, R.J. Braverman Corp, which produced them from 1995 to 1997. There was a brief resurgence in production from 2002 to 2004 before the company ceased operations again.”
